Comprehensive Sexuality Education Program(Supported by NOPE Kenya)

YCK is currently working with young people in & out of school within Limuru area and gives special focus to young girls, who come from an area called Mabrouke in Limuru which is located in tea plantation areas. The area is cosmopolitan and diverse in terms; of the tribes and people who live there. Many of the residents in the area work with tea plantation companies and work come from different counties.
YCK team was overwhelmed by the magnitude of issues presented by children aged 10-30 years. Some of the major challenges experienced in the area are: Sexual abuse(Rape and Sodomy), HIV, Unprotected sex among young people, High levels of teenage pregnancy, early and forced child marriage, child labor, lack of sanitary towels, poverty and inter generational sex.Through the support offered by NOPE, YCK conducted forums designed for young people between the ages of 10-30 years to equip them with knowledge on sexuality, relationships, and sexual violence and HIV. The project reached out to over 150 young people during the Month of November and December 2015.
